Review ShoesPerformance Kwake MTB shoe. These shoes from the American Cycling mail order specialist, Performance, are excellent value for money, dual Velcro straps lock you in snug and comfy. Cordura panels allow the shoes to breathe and help to keep your feet dry. The shoes are SPD compatible, I used them both with and without SPDs and they worked well. Down side is that these shoes are heavy, but for the price good value. Back to top Shimano M210 MTB Shoe These shoes look very much like Shimano's R210 road shoes, the only real difference is the facility for toe studs. Very comfortable, very snug fitting shoe, your strapped in by 2 Velcro straps that once fastened rarely need to be touched again on a ride. Not surprisingly they are of course SPD compatible. These are all day riding shoes. Cordura panels in the toe box area help keep you cool and dry, and this is where the only down side of these shoes can be found, as in cold weather the Cordura panels offer no protection from the cold whatsoever. I eventually gave up on the 210's in cold weather and bought some DH boots. However I have to give these shoes the thumbs up, comfy, snug, all day riding ability, and very tough. £90 is a lot of money, but you pays for what you get. |
